At the beginning of September, Sheffield hosted the WKC World Karate Championships. Sport Karate Coalition had 7 members attend this championship. This was our first competition after the summer break, and our athletes returned with an impressive 14 medals: 6 gold, 7 silver, and 1 bronze.
On the first day, we had the coaches meeting, document checks, and weigh-ins. On Saturday morning, we kicked off the competition with kata, followed by exciting kumite matches on Sunday. The level of karate was incredibly high, featuring participants from around the world, including Panama, Australia, the USA, and Italy and many more.
Participating in the WKC World Karate Championships not only provided us with valuable experience but also reinforced our belief that hard work leads to great results. I also had the opportunity to meet friends from various corners of the globe and exchange insights about karate.
We are already looking forward to the WKC European Karate Championships, which will take place next year in Romania. We will definitely be there, ready for new challenges and more medals!
